Amboy used to be a thriving desert town and popular watering hole along Route 66 in the 50s. Now it's a small, mostly abandoned rest-stop along an isolated stretch of road nobody travels anymore. The town itself plays host today to at least four souls: Bob, an old man taking care of his withdrawn and invalid wife, Alaine; Larry, who lives on the other side of 66 and is caretaker of the old motel and café, now largely fallen into disrepair; and Larry's faithful canine companion, Jackson.

This quiet, mostly wordless story depicts the life of two isolated men attempting to find meaning and place in the middle of nowhere.
